The Trakai district branch of the Association of Poles in Lithuania is a non-governmental organization which has been active in the Trakai region and Lithuania for more than 30 years. The organization unites about 2000 members, who are people of all the ages, but mainly young people. The main tasks of the organization are: - promotion of Polish culture in Lithuania and abroad; - preserving the cultural heritage and cultural values of national minorities; - promotion of active participation in local, regional and national initiatives by the implementation of various cultural, sport, educational, health and youth projects; - promotion and strengthening intercultural communication skills; - development of citizenship, patriotism and national self-awareness; - strengthening youth involvement; - strengthening intercultural dialogue between Lithuanians and national minorities. Trakai district branch of the Association of Poles in Lithuania carries out a variety of projects and has sufficient experience in project implementation. It actively participates in the national and international open calls for project funding, co-financing and receives funds for project activities. It implements many ongoing projects that have reached the international level. Basic projects: Festival of Polish Culture of the Trakai Land "Sound, Polish Song!" Harvest Festival event PLON Christmas carol concert "To Bethlehem". Sports games, rallies, other holidays, events; Cultural education projects, workshops.

The partner organization, the Trakai districl branch of the Association of Poles in Lithuania is, has for many years gathered around the local governments of the Gizycko district. The thread of understanding and a jointly developed, model of cooperation has resulted in the implementation of many projects. Due to the fact that the Foundation for the Protection of the Great Masurian Lakes acts on behalf and for the benefit of 23 local governments, we had the opportunity to cooperate in many fields through the implementation of various projects. Many times Mrs. Maria Pucz as vice mayor of the Trakai region honoured us with her presence. Building partnerships and willingness to cooperate resulted in joining the joint project of the Polish-Lithuanian Youth Exchange Fund, under the title Integration through joint creative activities, with the Foundation for the Protection of the Great Masurian Lakes. Mutual cooperation over the years, equal treatment of each other are values hat fully reflect the spirit of partnership. This relationship developed between the countries over the years has become a reason to maintain mutual relations.
