description

Plast is a Ukrainian Scouting organization. The goal of Plast is to promote comprehensive, patriotic upbringing and self-education of Ukrainian youth. Plast educates young people as conscious, responsible, and fully-fledged citizens of the local, national, and global community, serving as guides for society. Plast is also a non-political and non-denominational organization. It was founded in 1911, shortly after the establishment of the scouting movement by Robert Baden-Powell in 1907. The name "Plast" is derived from the English word "Scout," following the example of the scout-explorers. The emblem of Plast consists of a trident and a three-petaled lily flower, a symbol of the scout movement known as Fleur-de-lis, woven into a harmonious integrity. To achieve its educational goals, Plast employs its own unique method of upbringing. Unlike most scouting organizations worldwide, where membership concludes at the age of 25, there are no age restrictions for Plast membership. The conditional age division includes 5 age categories: Cubs (up to 6 years, who can be members of Plast only with their parents), Novices (6-12 years), Juniors (12-18 years), Senior Plastuny (18-35 years), and Plastuny-Seniors (from 35 years). The goal of Plast is to promote comprehensive, patriotic upbringing and self-education of Ukrainian youth based on Christian morals. It aims to educate young people as conscious, responsible, and fully-fledged citizens of the local, national, and global community, serving as guides for society based on the ideological principles of Plast. To achieve this goal, Plast develops the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical qualities of its members. It nurtures among youth the traditions of their ancestors and the transmission and understanding of their history, culture, and national traditions.

Experience in the implementation of educational projects aimed at young people

The last two years for our country, and particularly for our organization, have been years of challenges, strong stresses, and experiences, years of change and a confident understanding that we need to continue our activities and help in any way we can. Thanks to this partnership, we were able to continue working with children, supporting their development and leisure activities. In 2022, six major projects were planned and implemented, including summer and winter camps. In total, there were over 4000 participants. This is a significant number, and these projects have already shown excellent results. Due to the wartime conditions in Ukraine, the number of places and territories where camps and events can be safely held has significantly decreased. Therefore, these projects have become a significant support for us and, first and foremost, for the comprehensive, quality, and safe development, recovery, and recreation of children!
