description
The youth centre is located in the heart of Zhuravno, in the town hall on the 1st floor. Currently, our premises are temporarily out of operation, and for a year now we have been actively seeking and applying for grant opportunities to renovate and reopen the youth centre. Despite this, we continue to organise events for young people in various community venues. The main areas of our work are non-formal education, volunteering, active leisure and social cohesion. We invite you to interesting workshops, trainings, film screenings and meetings in new locations.
Our main target audience is rural youth, who often face limited opportunities for development and self-realisation. We strive to create a space where young people from our community can access non-formal education, volunteering and active leisure, regardless of where they live. Our programmes are aimed at helping young people from rural areas to realise their potential, gain new knowledge, skills and contacts, and become part of an active and cohesive community.
Board games, film screenings, BURCHYKS, human rights, leadership, volunteering and master classes (media, design), the Volunteer School from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, youth camps - all of these are still available to young people, despite the temporary inconvenience of the premises.
Experience in the implementation of educational projects aimed at young people
Our youth centre has extensive experience in implementing educational projects that promote the development of competencies, self-realisation and civic engagement of young people. In our work, we combine non-formal education, volunteering, training and club activities, which allows us to reach a wide range of young people with different needs and interests.
Youth+ project (in cooperation with UNICEF)
The project is aimed at developing life skills, providing psychosocial support and strengthening the role of student government. As part of the initiative, we held a series of trainings, youth camps and interactive events. Young people developed critical thinking and teamwork skills and initiated their own mini-projects.
Training programme ‘What's the deal with conflicts?’
Implemented with the support of the NGO ‘Active Youth Community’ and the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe. Participants mastered techniques of non-violent communication, conflict resolution, empathy and leadership development. This allowed young people to improve their communication skills and increase their emotional intelligence.
UPSHIFT projects (in partnership with UNICEF)
We have repeatedly joined the UPSHIFT initiative, which combines non-formal education with practical experience in creating social projects. Young people worked in teams to find solutions to local problems, develop ideas and implement them in the community with the support of mentors.
Trainings from the centre's volunteers
Our volunteers conduct educational workshops on human rights, environmental awareness, volunteering, and artistic trends based on their own experience and training (for example, using the Compass textbook from the Council of Europe).
Each of the projects is focused on developing 21st century skills, promoting social inclusion, empowering young people in the rural community and preparing them for active participation in public life.
