Foundation Casimir the Great was established in 2013 to coordinate initiatives and activities, mainly educational and upbringing, shaping civic and patriotic attitudes and enriching the identity and awareness of society. The main aspect is activities aimed at maintaining national traditions, cultivating Polishness and national, civic and cultural awareness; culture, art, protection of cultural assets and national heritage; care of monuments; activities for veterans and oppressed people, tourism and sightseeing; sports and recreation; pro-defense activities and supporting the armed forces of the Republic of Poland.

The National Competition "Cursed Soldiers - Unbreakable Heroes" for children and youth is a flagship project of the Foundation. Casimir the Great. In total, we have already held the 12th edition, which is held every year under the patronage of, among others, The President of the Republic of Poland, several ministers, several education superintendents and others. It is the largest in terms of the number of participants (1,620 student works submitted in 2023) and the longest-running knowledge competition about the Cursed Soldiers in Poland.
