Kaunas Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas Gymnasium is a progressive and inclusive secondary school in Lithuania’s historic city of Kaunas. It actively collaborates with Vytautas Magnus University (VDU), offering specialized classes such as the VDU Artes Liberales Class, Bilingual German Education, STEAM, Modern Technology Mathematics, and Multimedia Technology. The gymnasium is also a recognized center for Sprachdiplom II, strengthening its foreign language education. Kaunas Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas Gymnasium submits applications, participates and has experience in Erasmus+ program projects such as Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices (KA229), Short-term projects for mobility of learners (KA122), Cooperation partnerships in school education (KA220), Small-scale partnerships (KA210) and Youth exchanges (KA1). In 2022-2023, the high school participated in thirteen international projects. 200 students and 10 teachers participated in the projects. Gymnasium administration, teachers and students have a lot of project management experience such as execution, decision making, communication, strategy, development, team management, technical competences, critical thinking. Kaunas Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas Gymnasium runs and participates in virtual etwinning program projects which includes activities on different topics and key competences involving two or more teachers and their students.
