About city and hromada Bar City Territorial Hromada was formed on September 7, 2016. It includes the city of Bar and the 72 settlements. The hromada?s area is 765,508 km2 . As of 2019, the total population is 40,979. The first mention of the Bar is 1401, the Magdeburg Law and the coat of arms - 1540. Rayon city since 1938. Twin Cities: Kwidzyn, Rybnik, Starachowice (Poland). The main task of local authorities is to update approaches to the management of the territories and resources as a result of reforms being implemented in Ukraine today. Investing in the community is not only an image and recognition, but above all an indicator that the community is constantly evolving and should be cooperated with. This is a kind of ?quality mark? that marks the community as effective and capable of implementing large projects. Creating a local community has given a new impetus to attracting investors, supporting businesses and making better use of our resources. The most important of the main areas of activity are: - involvement of the population in solving issues of local and national importance; - possession, use and management of communal property; - provision of comprehensive socio-economic and cultural development; - provision of social services to the population; - ensuring public safety, law and order, protection of rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens; - social protection of the population, promotion of employment of citizens; - social protection and assistance to people who moved to the community from the occupied territories, soldiers of the Armed Forces, families of fallen Heroes.

Taking into account the common centuries-old history of the Ukrainian and Polish peoples, the historical heritage of the city of Bar, in 1999 an agreement on cooperation was concluded between the cities of Bar and Kwidzyn of the Republic of Poland. Long-term cooperation with Kwidzyn contributed to the spread of cultural values of cities, contributed to mutual knowledge of the cultural heritage of both peoples, cooperation in the field of education between schools of various profiles, development of cooperation and provision of humanitarian assistance in the field of health care, provision of charitable assistance to institutions of culture, social sphere, communal enterprises. From the first day of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, friendly Kwidzyn confirmed his true solidarity and friendship. They provided effective concrete help in such a difficult time: food, generators, medicines, busses, a fire engine... Thanks to the long-term cooperation between twin cities, children from Baru had the opportunity to relax in the city of Gdańsk, in the health camp of scouts in Orkush. Thank you for cooperation and organization of such important projects in such a difficult time for Ukraine "There are borders between languages, but there are no borders between hearts."
