description
Established in spring 2019, "Constellation K" aims to foster the development of rural areas in Ukraine, particularly focusing on the village of Korostiv. Situated in the rural expanse of the Carpathian Mountains, within a region characterized by lower economic and geographic opportunities, our organization is dedicated to enriching the local community. We strive to implement best European practices, broaden the global perspective of youth, and enhance the ecological situation.
Guided by principles of openness, democracy, ecological sustainability, and local development, our association, initially formed by two individuals in 2019, has since welcomed like-minded individuals who share our values and objectives. As of 2024, our association comprises approximately 40 members, predominantly local rural villagers, many of whom are engaging in social activities for the first time. In 2023, we underwent a positive transformation by involving numerous active participants, resulting in changes to our board, organizational leadership, and audit committee.
With a primary focus on the most vulnerable local groups?children, internally displaced persons (due to war), and seniors?we established a local non-formal education hub in 2021. On a weekly basis, we conduct approximately 12 hours of after-school activities for youth from our village and neighboring areas, providing their only opportunity for additional non-formal education. Workshops encompass traditional-modern mixed woodcraft, glasswork and digital literacy.
In 2022, following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, our team organized workshops for over 1,000 internally displaced children and youth.
Experience in the implementation of educational projects aimed at young people
Our recent projects include:
? "Andrew Sheptycki" Rural Educational Youth Centre (facebook.com/Svitlytsia.A.Sheptyskyj);
? Weekly board-gaming meetings for youth
? Weekly workshops for youth in the field of traditional crafts, in a modern way (e.g., woodcrafting, stained glass, embroidery)
? Weekly meetings for youth in the field of photo- and social media literacy
? Educational events for rural seniors
? Ecological initiatives to promote sustainable and regenerative thinking among local citizens
? Local social entrepreneurship, including the production of herbal tea (made from local herbs), wood-based souvenirs, and the provision of educational services.
Our activities often represent the only possibility for rural citizens in our Ukrainian region to have access to informal educational activities
