description
?Pažinimo medis? started its activity in 2007. It is a private school covering all levels of education, working in accordance with the General Education Programmes of the Republic of Lithuania. The school educates children from kindergarten (ages 2-6) and primary school (ages 7-11) to secondary school and gymnasium (ages 12-19).
The mission of the school is to grow together with the child, helping him/ her to become a happy and authentic human being. All levels of the organisation are guided by the Adlerian individual psychology approach to human development. Education is approached in a holistic way: it focuses on motivation to learn, developing not only knowledge but also competences, not being afraid to make mistakes in the educational process, comparing oneself with oneself, learning through experience, cooperation and creative problem solving. Education follows the 4S (4 Relationships) model and develops through the relationship between self, other, world and task. The school develops and implements authentic informal education projects such as the mentorship programme, STEAM projects, annual papers, and the SECU programme (development of social ? emotional competences) for students and teachers.
Experience in the implementation of educational projects aimed at young people
?Pažinimo medis? school has actively participated in international projects, demonstrating a strong commitment to inclusive, green, and international approaches to education. The Erasmus+ project "Inclusive and Green School with an International Approach" marked the school's initiation into the Erasmus Schools Network. This project was conducted from June 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023. Following the success of this project, the school launched an accredited Erasmus mobility project in the 2023 academic year. Moreover, since 2019, the school has been actively involved in NordPlus Junior projects, engaging in STEAM activities with partners from abroad. The school's participation in the NordPlus project "Scientific Hiking - Secrets of Water" resulted in the creation of methodological books for teachers and manuals for pupils. Furthermore, the ongoing NordPlus project "School Community Greenhouse" (implemented from 2022 to 2024) emphasizes interdisciplinary cooperation among teachers and joint activities involving students from different educational levels.
