description
In February 2001, the House of Polish Culture in Vilnius, owned by the Charity and Aid Foundation "House of Polish Culture in Vilnius", registered on February 2, 2001, began its activities.
Among the priorities of House of Polish Culture in Vilnius activities is cultural education, which involves promoting Polish literature and art among the residents of Vilnius and supporting the local art movement and other cultural activities. An important task of this institution is also the cultivation of local traditions, folklore, saving from oblivion all the values that for many generations have shaped the national identity of Poles in the Vilnius region.
The realization of these intentions is possible thanks to cooperation with numerous social organizations whose headquarters are located under the roof of the DKP. At present, more than thirty Polish social organizations are housed in the DKP building.
The House of Polish Culture in Vilnius fulfills its primary mission by implementing diverse forms of cultural and educational activities. Our program offer includes a number of both periodic and occasional events of various nature. We organize, among others, concerts (classical, folk, rock music, etc.), evenings of poetry, artistic meetings, vernissages of contemporary, folk and other art, theatrical performances, popular-scientific lectures, fairs of Polish books, film screenings, discos, etc. Polish national and calendar holidays are traditionally celebrated, such as Children's Day, Teacher's Day, New Year's Eve and carnival parties are organized, etc.
Experience in the implementation of educational projects aimed at young people
The House of Polish Culture in Vilnius plays a key role in implementing educational projects aimed at young people, combining elements of culture, education and physical activity and recreation in its activities.
One aspect of this activity is open-air art workshops, which provide young people with the opportunity to develop their artistic skills in an inspiring environment. Bicycle rallies and canoe trips are other activities that combine sports, recreation and learning about the history and culture of the region. Educational trips to Poland under the banner "Get to Know Polish Culture" allow participants to experience Polish culture, art, history and traditions directly, thus promoting Polish cultural heritage.
Knowledge contests are also an important part of the program of the House of Polish Culture, promoting learning and acquiring knowledge of Polish culture, history, literature and art. Organized concerts and performances aimed at young people present both traditional Polish music and art, as well as modern interpretations, attracting young audiences and providing them with access to high-quality cultural experiences.
In addition to these initiatives, the Polish Cultural House in Vilnius plays a key role in organizing cultural exchanges between artistic groups from Poland and Lithuania. These exchanges cover a variety of art fields, such as theater, music, dance and visual arts. They enable artists to present their work internationally, foster intercultural dialogue and cooperation, and help break down language and cultural barriers.
All these activities are aimed not only at promoting Polish culture and heritage, but also at the personal and educational development of young people, enabling them to acquire new skills, knowledge and experiences. In this way, the Polish Cultural House in Vilnius contributes to building cultural and educational bridges between Poland and Lithuania, investing in future generations and shaping openness, tolerance and mutual respect between nations.
