Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University is a city-forming, modern educational institution, research and cultural center, integrated into the European educational, research and cultural space. It was founded in 1940 and at present comprises 5 faculties: Faculty of Physics, Mathematics, Economics and Innovative Technology, Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology, Faculty of Primary Education Arts, Faculty of Health and Natural Sciences, Faculty of History, Pedagogy and Psychology. The university counts 23 departments having 307 academic staff members, among them 52 doctors of science, professors, and 226 candidates of sciences (PhD), associate professors. The university has also a Centre of Further Education and Pre-University Preparation. In the consolidated ranking of higher education institutions of Ukraine in 2023, the Drohobych University gained the 67th position out of more than 200 Ukrainian higher educational institutions and the 3d place among pedagogical universities. According to academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine Drohobych University took the 81st position in the "Top-200 Ukraine 2023". Today, the university, consisting of 5 faculties, trains specialists under 39 bachelor educational programs, 50 master educational programs and 15 doctor of philosophy educational programs. As for December 2023 there are more than 4900 students studying at the university. These are students of three levels. They participate in different forms of academic mobility, international contests and festivals. International cooperation of Drohobych University is realized with more than 20 countries, with which it is declared by official cooperation agreements (as for the year 2023 there are 75 such agreements).

Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University has always had international cooperation as one of its priority areas of activity aimed at expanding the network of foreign partners, implementing joint projects, scientific research, and academic mobility programs. The university maintains partnerships with more than 50 higher educational institutions and NGOs in Poland, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries of the world. As of today, 75 international agreements are implemented in full cooperation with foreign partners. It improves the academic standard and the quality of educational services, facilitates conducting joint research and holding cultural and educational events. The university has international projects within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 program: UKROTHE and CRED4TEACH. Our partners in these projects are universities and organizations in Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Estonia, Turkey, Albania, Montenegro and Spain. On the other hand, the university provides opportunities for students to participate in in international academic exchange programs, in particular with the Erasmus+ KA1 program and others. Our partners in these programs are universities in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland. Every year dozens of students of various study programs follow semester studies at leading European universities. Attending additional courses is also embodied in a virtual form. University scientists actively facilitate international academic staff mobility by giving lectures and conducting workshops for students at leading universities in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Poland and other countries.
